Elementary School
“Success Every Day for Every Child Through Leadership and Learning”
Led by the team of Janey Malone, Adam Dymond, and Kelly Middleton, Deerfield Elementary School is setting a new standard for elementary schools in the area.
Deerfield Elementary School believes that the key to proficiency-based learning is customization for each and every student.
Teachers use formative and summative assessments to make conclusions on what each student knows and what skills need reinforcements. Approximately every 2 educational weeks, teachers use flexible grouping to place students in groups with specific standards, working to strengths and weaknesses to develop abilities and skills.
Deerfield also pioneered the way during the early days of COVID, preparing a platform with the official DES Distance Learning Plan, guiding parents and tutors alike on how to educate their children at home and make the e-Learning transition as seamless as possible.

With approximately 800 students, Deerfield Elementary School is committed to being a pilot proficiency-based learning system that focuses on customized learning and student leadership.
DES provides a unique educational experience with everything from ELA report cards, a German immersion program (read more about it here), and student leadership programs.
